High Speed Craft Operators and the EU Vibration Directive - 6th July
The Directive relates to all forms of land, sea and air transport.
Please visit our Home Page for a copy of the EU Vibration Directive.
To save you some research time here is a quote from the HSE website:-
'The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations comes into force on 6 July 2005.
These regulations set out specific requirements for the control of health risks from exposure to hand-arm and whole-body vibration in the workplace.'
'The Directive was published in the Official Journal of the European Communities on 6 July 2002 (L177 Vol 45, p12) as Directive 2002/44/EC on the minimum health and safety requirements regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from vibration and has now come into force.'
'Member States had three years to implement the Directive from 6 July 2002.'
You need to ensure that anyone dealing with 'Compliance' has read this.
It needs to be read regarding RIBs as they do come under 'Sea Transport.'
Anyone operating RIBs and fast craft needs to have an understanding of:-
-
What does the EU Vibration Directive actually mean to you?
-
What is the timescale for you to comply with the Directive?
-
