Shock Mitigation and the Body PositionFor a variety of reasons we believe that a particular body position benefits helmsman and crew. Correctly positioned seating can enhance this posture and it is impossible to ignore the benefits of a good workstation layout. We believe that certain types of suspension seats can also reduce the potential for injury. We are developing working relationships with equipment manufacturers that understand our objectives and we are pleased to assist in product development. We will also work with the boat manufacturers and operators who understand the specialist requirements of professional boat users. Suspension Seats and the EU DirectiveOver the coming months the professional operators who use RIBs and fast craft will become aware of the EU Directive. Some organisations will see the potential to reduce operator injury, improve operational efficiency, comply with legislation and avoid injury claims. We believe that in order to comply with the EU Directive professional operators will request tenders for boats with suspension seats. As experienced RIB users in the leisure market become aware of new developments they will also appreciate the benefits of suspension seats. Ergonomics - The study of how a workplace and the equipment used there can best be designed for comfort, safety, efficiency, and productivity Biomechanics - Part of shock mitigation is the study of the mechanics of the human body especially the forces exerted by muscles and gravity on the skeletal structure. | |||||||||||||||
